Unfortunately, we are not able to offer assembly at this time. Many bike shops will offer assembly as a service, so we recommend looking into those options at your local bike shop.

How much of the bike comes assembled?

Our bikes will be delivered to you 75% assembled. Though you can do it on your own, we highly recommend taking your bike to a local bike mechanic to assemble the rest of the bike.

What is a coaster brake?

A coaster brake is an internal brake built into your bike that’s activated by pedaling backwards. Coaster brakes generally allow for a smoother transition from moving to full-stop and remain effective even in rainy conditions.

What is a suspension fork?

A suspension fork is a part on the wheel(s) that allows a bike to better absorb shocks that come from bumps and cracks in the road, or varying terrain. Bikes with suspension typically offer a smoother ride because of it.

What is internal cable housing?

A bike with internal cable housing is designed to allow the bike’s cables (for its brakes, speeds, etc.) to run through the bike frame. This offers a cleaner, sleeker look and protects the cables from outside elements (like rain or dirt).

Do your bikes come with kickstands?

All of our bikes except for Amok, Harper, Harper 7, and Culver come with a kickstand.

What are the sizes of your bike tires?

You can find our bike's tire size information in the "Specification" section located at the bottom of the product's page.

Are all wheels compatible with your bikes?

Unfortunately, some wheels will not fit our bikes. Should you decide to install wheels from a different brand, consult your local bike dealer before purchasing new ones.

Which of your bikes have aluminum frames?

Barron, Atlas, and Chatham Plus all have aluminum frames.

What kind of tire tubes come with your bikes?

Amok, Beaumont Plus, Harper 7, Harper, Harper Plus, and Culver are Presta tubes, while all the other models are Schrader.

Are all your bikes compatible with your trailers?

Yes! Our trailers are compatible with most adult bikes with 20-29” wheels.

Are all your bikes compatible with your baskets?

Apollo, Apollo Lite, Apollo-X, Dreamcatcher and Toto bike baskets are compatible with the following adult bike models: Sully, Beaumont, Chatham, and Barron.

Are Retrospec car racks compatible with all Retrospec Bikes?

Our Lenox Tray Car Rack is compatible with all Retrospec bikes, regardless of frame shape, with no adapter needed. Our Lenox Hitch Mounted Car Rack is also compatible with all Retrospec bikes, however bikes with step through frames will need a top tu

Can I install a child's seat to any of your bikes?

Unfortunately, we have not tested any of our bikes with child carriers, so we do not recommend installing one to your Retrospec bike. However, we do recommend attaching any of our trailers to the back of your bike should you decide to take your child

Will Alder or Arroyo fit in the bottle cages on your bikes?

Only Alder is designed to fit in a bottle cage.

Can I add a watter bottle cage to my bike?

You can add a water bottle cage to any of our bikes except for those with a step through frame.

Which of your bikes fit on the Lenox Car Rack?

All of our adult bikes fit our Lenox Bike Tray, however, our kids' bikes will not.

Is there a weight limit for your bikes?

The recommended weight limit on our adult bikes is 250lbs.

How much do your bikes weigh?

Should I size up or down if I am inbetween bike sizes?

How do I register my bike?

You can register your bike by filling out this form.

How high should I make the seat post?

Your seat post is adjustable and can be raised up until you see the insertion limit hashmarks. If correctly adjusted, the hashmarks will be inserted into the seat post and not be visible.

Which way should the fork go?

Your bike is packaged with the fork backwards to prevent and minimize damage to the brake system. Once assembled, follow the arrows located on the sides to face the fork forward to complete your assembly.

Which valve mouths are compatible with your bikes tires?

Our bikes are compatible with both schrader and presta valves.

Can I adjust the height of my bike's handlebar?

Only bikes with threadless quill handlebars are adjustable by a few inches. If your bike comes with a threadless handlebar stem, then unfortunately, you won't be able to adjust its height.

How can I remove my bike's tires?

Front wheels are easy to remove by using a simple hex wrench to unscrew the front bolts. However, if you want to remove the back tire and don't have the proper tools, you should take your bike to a local bike shop to have it removed correctly.

Should I wear a helmet while biking?

Yes, you should always wear a helmet while biking. If you are involved in an accident while biking, a helmet will drastically reduce the odds of a fatal or serious head injury.

How often should I tune my bike?

Tuning your bike depends on how often you are riding it. Typically the 6 month mark is a good time to check it.

How do I take care of my bike?
